Christmas Like A Child (Third Day)

Christmas Like A Child – Third Day

Wishing all fellow Multiply-ers a blessed Christmas and a wonderful new year 2008! May we all feel and celebrate Christmas like a child this year!!

Christmas Like a Child (Third Day)

I want to feel Christmas, how it used to be
With all of its wonder falling on me
This season has felt so empty, oh for quite a while
I want to feel Christmas like a child

I want to see snowflakes fall to the ground
My brothers and sisters all gathered around
Singing “Away In A Manager” as we sit by the fire
I want to feel Christmas like a child

It’s been so long now, I can’t say
Just when I lost my way
But I’m going back to how it was
When this day meant everything
And we spent our time remembering
The baby Child born for us

It’s all about Jesus, asleep in the straw
This infant, this King, this Savior for all

So I don’t need bells to be ringing
‘Cause I’ll join with angels singing
Gloria
And I can feel Christmas like a child
I want to feel Christmas like a child…

You

You – Practice Version

(note: Vocals: Theresa, Chayenne; Piano: Doreen, Weng Mei; Bass: Seng Kuan; Drums: Aleks)

Since I’m still having problems uploading stuff from my office, I finally managed to upload this from home. This was one of our recorded practice versions of my composition, You, before the MRSC finals 2007. Thanks for the recording, Jeff! Enjoy!

YOU

You, You are my King
And You, You are my desiring

You, You are my Saviour
And You, You are my Redeemer

Pre-Chorus
You’ve set me apart since creation’s story
And raised me up to bring You glory…

Chorus
So I will worship you alone
Cause only You, will reign forever on Your throne
And I, will worship you always
Cause only You, are deserving of all praise
No one else could ever do
Only You

You, You are my Lord
And You, You are the Living Word

You, You are my true Friend
And You, you’re the Rock I can depend

(pre-chorus + chorus)

Bridge:

Only You could pay the cost
That would set me free
When You hung there on the cross
And you died for me
And that is why
That is why…

(chorus)

Post MRSC Finals 2007

Whew! It’s finally over!!!

The finals that took place last Sunday night at Matrade Hall saw Samuel Oh and his Bus Company taking the top honours with the catchy rocker “What If”. Hendra with “Perpisahan” took second spot and Lawrence with “The Way, The Truth, The Life” taking third place.

Although my song didn’t make the top three, the entire experience of sharing the stage with all these incredible talents was simply electrifying. The competition was indeed tough and I was truly amazed at our own wonderful local talents.

To Sam and the Bus Company, CONGRATS dudes! That’s a really cool song and band! You guys truly deserve it! ;-) Hope this win will be the springboard to greater things ahead for them!! Check them out at their official blogsite HERE

Will try to post some pictures and clips later….something seems to be wrong of late…..company server preventing us from uploading stuff or something like that. Sighhh..

Number of the Day:

3-2 – Scoreline at Wembley that sent England packing and effectively outta the European Championship qualifiers after being thrown the miracle lifeline by Israel’s defeat of Russia last weekend. Great stuff! Personally I think it’s a good wake up call for the English and their arrogance. New England coach for hire, anyone?.;-)

Indescribable – Live Version (Chris Tomlin)

Indescribable – Chris Tomlin

Fantastic live version of this great song by Chris Tomlin! Check it out!!

Indescribable (Chris Tomlin)

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

How Could You?

Not many things that I read will move me to tears but this particular article that I read last night from a pet magazine certainly did.  It is quite lengthy but really well worth the read and apparently this essay has already been in circulation since 2001. Anyway, thought I’d still share it with everyone today. Hope it will touch your hearts as it did mine. Enjoy!

——————————

How Could You? (by Jim Willis, 2001)

When I was a puppy I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh. You called me your child and despite a number of chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend. Whenever I was “bad,” you’d shake your finger at me and ask “How could you?” – but then you’d relent and roll me over for a bellyrub.

My housetraining took a little longer than expected, because you were terribly busy, but we worked on that together. I remember those nights of nuzzling you in bed, listening to your confidences and secret dreams, and I believed that life could not be any more perfect. We went for long walks and runs in the park, car rides, stops for ice cream (I only got the cone because “ice cream is bad for dogs,” you said), and I took long naps in the sun waiting for you to come home at the end of the day.

Gradually, you began spending more time at work and on your career, and more time searching for a human mate. I waited for you patiently, comforted you through heartbreaks and disappointments, never chided you about bad decisions, and romped with glee at your homecomings, and when you fell in love.

She, now your wife, is not a “dog person” – still I welcomed her into our home, tried to show her affection, and obeyed her. I was happy because you were happy. Then the human babies came along and I shared your excitement. I was fascinated by their pinkness, how they smelled, and I wanted to mother them, too. Only she and you worried that I might hurt them, and I spent most of my time banished to another room, or to a dog crate. Oh, how I wanted to love them, but I became a “prisoner of love.”

As they began to grow, I became their friend. They clung to my fur and pulled themselves up on wobbly legs, poked fingers in my eyes, investigated my ears and gave me kisses on my nose. I loved everything about them and their touch – because your touch was now so infrequent – and I would have defended them with my life if need be.

I would sneak into their beds and listen to their worries and secret dreams. Together we waited for the sound of your car in the driveway. There had been a time, when others asked you if you had a dog, that you produced a photo of me from your wallet and told them stories about me. These past few years, you just answered “yes” and changed the subject. I had gone from being “your dog” to “just a dog,” and you resented every expenditure on my behalf.

Now you have a new career opportunity in another city, and you and they will be moving to an apartment that does not allow pets. You’ve made the right decision for your “family,” but there was a time when I was your only family.

I was excited about the car ride until we arrived at the animal shelter. It smelled of dogs and cats, of fear, of hopelessness. You filled out the paperwork and said “I know you will find a good home for her.” They shrugged and gave you a pained look. They understand the realities facing a middle-aged dog or cat, even one with “papers.” You had to pry your son’s fingers loose from my collar as he screamed “No, Daddy! Please don’t let them take my dog!” And I worried for him, and what lessons you had just taught him about friendship and loyalty, about love and responsibility, and about respect for all life. You gave me a goodbye pat on the head, avoided my eyes, and politely refused to take my collar and leash with you. You had a deadline to meet and now I have one, too.

After you left, the two nice ladies said you probably knew about your upcoming move months ago and made no attempt to find me another good home. They shook their heads and asked “How could you?”

They are as attentive to us here in the shelter as their busy schedules allow. They feed us, of course, but I lost my appetite days ago. At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was you – that you had changed your mind – that this was all a bad dream…or I hoped it would at least be someone who cared, anyone who might save me. When I realized I could not compete with the frolicking for attention of happy puppies, oblivious to their own fate, I retreated to a far corner and waited.

I heard her footsteps as she came for me at the end of the day and I padded along the aisle after her to a separate room. A blissfully quiet room. She placed me on the table, rubbed my ears and told me not to worry. My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come, but there was also a sense of relief. The prisoner of love had run out of days. As is my nature, I was more concerned about her. The burden which she bears weighs heavily on her and I know that, the same way I knew your every mood.

She gently placed a tourniquet around my foreleg as a tear ran down her cheek. I licked her hand in the same way I used to comfort you so many years ago. She expertly slid the hypodermic needle into my vein. As I felt the sting and the cool liquid coursing through my body, I lay down sleepily, looked into her kind eyes and murmured “How could you?”

Perhaps because she understood my dogspeak, she said “I’m so sorry.” She hugged me and hurriedly explained it was her job to make sure I went to a better place, where I wouldn’t be ignored or abused or abandoned, or have to fend for myself – a place of love and light so very different from this earthly place. With my last bit of energy, I tried to convey to her with a thump of my tail that my “How could you?” was not meant for her. It was you, My Beloved Master, I was thinking of. I will think of you and wait for you forever.

May everyone in your life continue to show you so much loyalty.

The End

Logo Loco?

london

Dubbed the “iconic” logo for the 2012 London Olympics, the logo above drew much criticism. Personally, I think it looks like someone lepak-ing with his fists resting on his chin…or someone with a really weird pose. Heck, they could very well use this as an image used in psychological tests. Heh.

Anyway, I have listed some excerpts (both positive and negative) of comments about the logo. Some are actually downright funny and sarcastic. In fact, I think it would be a good idea to propose having Logo Commentary as a sport during these games. ;-)

Design, Meaning & Organiser’s Hope (aka positive remarks)

The jagged emblem, designed to define the image of the Games in five years’ time, comes in a series of bright shades of pink, blue, green and orange, and includes the signature five Olympic rings emblazoned onto the “0″.

“It will define the venues we build and the Games we hold, and act as a reminder of our promise to use the Olympic spirit to inspire everyone and reach out to young people around the world” (Lord Sebastian Coe)

“This is an iconic brand that sums up what London 2012 is all about — an inclusive, welcoming and diverse Games that involves the whole country” (Olympics minister Tessa Jowell)

Negative Remarks

“Lord Coe has described this logo as ‘ambitious, interactive and youth-friendly’. I would describe it as hideous.Questions need be answered as to how we have ended up in this situation. Was there an open competition to supply the designs? If so, what on earth do the rejected ones look like! We need to know how much money this exercise has cost, because whatever it was, it’s been a complete waste of money.”(Bob Neil, 2012 Olympics spokesman for the main opposition Conservative Party)

“This logo makes me embarrassed to be English” (public comment)

“It looks like it could have been done by a six year old. I could do better with my eyes closed” (public comment)

Statistics

A poll by the BBC News website asked readers to give it a gold, silver or bronze medal, or a wooden spoon if they really didn’t like it. Eighty three percent gave it a wooden spoon.

————————–

Number of the Day:

9.3 – Billion Pounds; The current budget (and still counting) for the 2012 Olympics. This is nearly four times more than the first projections of how much it would cost to stage the Games in London. Sigh…one could easily conquer the EPL and Europe with that kind of warchest.
